About Us

knus provides free mental health peer support through innovative technologies such as WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, SMS, telephone, video and soon our own all-in-one app. Our new app will incorporate artificial intelligence, helping us match the service user with one of our volunteers, enhancing the mutuality and reciprocity of the peer connection. Our chat service is supported by our accredited course in Overcoming Anxiety, meditations, sleep stories and workshops. Our service is accessible within 15-60 minutes during the daytime hours. Our technology allows for continuous or ad-hoc chats and is designed to be bespoke to the service user.

We have found that 9/10 service users report a relief in their symptoms of anxiety after interacting with knus. This is predominately a result of sharing of lived experiences and the shared understanding of what the service user is going through. If we find a service user needs further support, we will do our very best to connect them with the support they need. Sometimes this means connecting the service to a crisis/emergency service and in other scenarios we may provide transport to get the service user to somewhere safe, where they can get the support needed.

Whilst providing our chat service, we offer our accredited Overcoming Anxiety course free of charge. This course is different to any other course, mainly because it provides bespoke tips and shared experiences between the service user and peer support coach. The courses provide interventions, peer support, holistic tips, and meditative music, followed by reflective exercises.

knus has partnered up with the Department for Works & Pensions and is now the first mental health service to cover all their service area through the UK. knus has relationships with the NHS in the London area and is continuing to make connections with all trusts.

knus is 100% volunteer driven, including all the management and volunteers. knus currently has over 160 volunteers living in the UK and volunteering from home. knus provides extensive training, including a CPD accredited course in Peer Support Coaching (made by Charles Harris) and courses in information security, safeguarding and health and safety. All volunteers are DBS enhanced and ID checked.

We’re dedicated to helping those struggling with mental health. No one should have to wait to talk about how they’re feeling. We are dedicated to helping as many people as we can and want to make a difference, in turn reducing the chances of crisis throughout the UK.
